Albemarle Law

Practice Overview

Welcome to the law office of Jim Phillips. I am an experienced attorney, serving Stanly County and North Carolina’s 20th Judicial District since 1977. My main areas of practice are family law, criminal law, real estate, and wills, trusts, and estates. For a complete listing of my practice areas, please click here.

A Professional and Personable Environment

I attribute my success to a variety of factors. For one thing, it is my goal to put clients at ease right from the start. I strive to provide a professional and personable environment in which clients can feel comfortable and assured that their legal needs are being understood and addressed by an experienced attorney. I treat clients with respect and courtesy, and their inquiries always receive a prompt response. In fact, it is my policy to return all calls within one business day.

For me, communication with the client is of the utmost importance. I make it a point to understand the concerns of my clients and address each concern in a professional and courteous manner. The words "personal attention" are not simply hollow buzz words. With me personal attention is integral in my day to day dealings with clients. When I take on a case, I am committed to the cause and give nothing less than my fullest attention and effort.

I pride myself on my preparation and always take an aggressive, no nonsense approach to all cases and controversies. My approach focuses on each client's background, needs, and goals, and I am committed to responding promptly to telephone calls, to reporting on cases regularly, and to minimizing and eliminating risk by informing clients of significant changes in the law.
My dedication to quality, understanding of the law, trust, and respect are the foundation for long-standing relationships with clients and the community.

Customer Service

For all of my clients I maintain a simple philosophy: Customer service is as important in the legal profession as it is in any other industry. I strive to achieve this goal in a straight forward manner: I return phone calls. I meet personally with my clients. I take the necessary time to answer questions and explain all aspects of my client's case. I regularly review files and calendar dead lines so cases do not last any longer than necessary. I deal professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and the Court to ensure that my client's case is being heard and properly evaluated. I treat my clients with respect and dignity.

In short, I recognize that the manner in which I treat my clients has a direct effect on my level of success. I want each client to leave my office knowing that I did all that I could to achieve the best possible result.

I look forward to discussing your legal needs with you. During business hours, please call me at 704-983-2709; after hours email your name and telephone phone to me by clicking here.
